Georgina Beyer

First transsexual in the world to be elected deputy.

Georgina Beyer (Wellington, 1957). Born George, and Maori race, the 17 was assumed to be women and began dressing as such. 'Destroyed all my clothes boy' she recalls. This sexual bet, however, it led to the marginalization and survive as a sex worker.
