A note on Congress about homoeroticism and power porn by Frau Diamanda

Under the International Interdisciplinary Congress “loves de(s)generated” homoeroticism in Peru and Latin America: knowledge, discourses and subject” were presented various papers around the homoeroticism in literature, society, culture and performing arts. It also addressed the subject in writers like Lacan and Eve Sedgwick, taking advantage to make an approach to their works and thoughts.

The identities studied were especially the lesbian and gay, in that context was a special guest Beatriz Gimeno of Spain who presented a book on the representation of the lesbian in the media. But it also gave space to queer theory (which was widely criticized) and performance.

Frau Diamanda (character of Hector Acuna) presented the performance entitled "Porn power" as the conference closed. Frau undress and was in jeans and a black mesh with black leather straps. She produced a tiny chest and thousands of accessories out there as a mask was placed, a spiked choker, a pair of scissors with which she cut her mesh with a black marker that pointed to his nipples, clothes hooks that put on your nipples.

She wrote on a blank sheet the word "power", the public was slow and then crumpled it and threw it away. She did the same with the word "knowledge" and "pleasure". It was shocking energy with which wrinkled words and pulled away, causing tremor, despite being a simple gesture. As additions to the scene had a screen in red flashing pictures coming out of a urinal.

She picked up the megaphone to repeat the phrases "gender", "without gender," "transgender," "not gender," variations of meaning and phonetic variations. Then let the megaphone in the chair that kept repeating "gender issues" and left the stage, returned to raise his voice from the megaphone and turn off the sound.

This was the closure of the event and performance, when Hector Acuna before had chance to say a few words to the public of its performative. We learned that he is a professional translator from English and French, that has been self-taught on the scene and that fully understand certain rejection of the drags queens transvestites because they come to steal camera when they spend so much time and effort to feminize.

It would look to reflect the fact that in terms of trans identities, they were present at the congress as a witness and as performance, but not as research, as exploration in literature, society and culture; certainly not for lack of fields on which to analyze, but because what is missing are symbolic representations validated trans in our societies, which were pushed into their invisibility, towards marginalization. Perhaps, the only approach to the issue in the presentations were given by some authors that playfully reflect on the separation of the sexes, as a Creatur of Gustavo Barrera and the poetry of José Carlos Yrigoyen, Submitted by Mark and Paul Arcaya Guillen, respectively. The challenge therefore remains that the world will have to transsexuality other expressions, characters, speeches capable of hitting and being part of our daily lives.
