She lived in a body that did not belong

National Television from Chile in its "Life" has shown the story of Vicky Yáñez, Radiography of a change," the life of a transsexual woman, activist for the rights of trans people, who underwent a sex reassignment operation.

The story introduces us to Vicky who was born as Victor William, who lives with his elderly parents, her partner (four years), Nao his dog (who is like his son) which is the only one that appears in the video because both her parents and her partner chose not to go public.

His childhood was normal but the school years she lived as an ordeal. His sister, Mary, describes her as a child who liked to dress as women and women's games. What she most felt was the pain of his parents, who cried a lot when they saw him dressed as a woman, but never discussed the subject with the family.

The importance of this report is to tear down several myths about transsexuals, cease to consider something "abnormal" to see people of flesh and blood behind the identity, fail to associate with prostitution transsexual, understanding the difference between transsexuality and homosexuality, between transsexuality and transvestism. But most of all learn more about the needs and urgencies of trans people, to achieve full citizenship and respect for their person.
