For years it has been conducting the Memorial Day Transgender. There are 10 dates on which reminds colleagues that their lives have been blinded by irrational hate of those who believe that gender boundaries insurgency, deserves death.
Thus, innumerable people, following the paths of liberty ventured to explore other experiences, other ways of expressing their identity, confronting stigma, discrimination and social exclusion were the subject of abject violence that cut short lives, projects, ideals , dreams. This day has been institutionalized to commemorate the death of Rita Hester, who led the following year to "Remembering our deaths" (Remembering our dead), a project website also featured a candlelight vigil in 1999 in San Francisco . Since then this event is held in many cities worldwide.
It is necessary to make visible in this time, in our localities, these crimes usually go unpunished, and therefore encourages these monstrosities transphobic to take action on the security that no consequences for their actions and also giving the wrong signal that there is a social silence accomplice. It is true that the justice system usually walks slowly and insensitivity and there is a background that believes that resources used for the investigation and punishment of the perpetrators of these heinous crimes are a waste it is unfortunately true that in the end the trans people are blamed for one another motive for his death.
These hate crimes because of the gender identity assumed by trans people (transgender, transvestites, transsexuals, transgender and other gender dissidence) occur anywhere in the world. Trans groups and organizations committed to defending the rights of their collective, explicit and deaths reported today in alerting, reporting, that are being compiled in the Handbook of the Intolerancia ILGA Trans Secretariat, also in the " Trans murder monotoring Project " Trans Conference of the European Union TGEU, so that we can tell the world of global social practices is imperative to eradicate from the face of the earth and goes against every value and principle human dignity.
