A trans global agenda
As follow we are going to resume the conclusions they arrive in those occasions about trans agenda. There are some similarities but also a differential between specifics demands from one to other region, because of the economic and social order. This agenda is part of a bigger debate but it will be a start.
Common demands:
1. Acceptance and inclusion of gender diversity in society. Specially in public opinion, looking for a political use of trans and intersexual term. It is important to mention that trans identity not necessarily imply a corporal transformation.
2. Looking for laws and norms against discrimination based on gender identity. Laws should be writing in a manner that reproduce the freedom and independence of adopt any identity beyond biological sex.
3. Respect to gender identity and the possibility of adopt the name that fit better with this identity. Also, the legal recognition of identities adopted by trans people.
4. Recognition of human rights, specially right to be autonomous, right to develop any personality, right to live with dignity, right to work, health, education, culture in an environment of respect for diversity.
Apart of these common demands we reproduce the specifics needs from Europe and Latin American and Caribbean regions, which are the result of the events mentioned before:
Europe
· Protection against discrimination in work and in the process of transition (from on to another identity).
· Financial aids from the public health system about transgendered and also investigation about this field. Capacitating to medical staff to treat trans people.
Latin American and Caribbean
· Health is the priority. We demand access to public health system, without discrimination. We talk about health in a broad sense that implies a state of integral welfare. Also we demand a change in medical terminology because trans people don’t feel identify in the Men having sex with men term (MSM), specially in the case of feminine trans. Right of auto determination and conceptualization of health is not only a demand for the State also for the International organizations as ONUSIDA, OMS, OPS and MCP of Global Fund.
· It is necessary an articulation between feminist and trans demand about gender identity.
· Marriage between people from the same sex is a priority in masculine trans community. Even though between feminine trans is not an important issue it will be supportive specially because is a common manner with gay and lesbian community.
· About prostitution and sexual work, it was a exhaustive debate about the importance of implement good conditions and respect for trans people who are dedicated to this way of life. Also was very important demand for access to education and work looking for prostitution or sex work will not be the only options for trans people.
· We pronounce against crime of hate base on gender identity. Our proposal is create an observatory to denounce these aggressions.
· Promote initiatives of trans and intersexual people who be force to solicited political asylum because of dangerous aggressions for their gender identity.
· It is necessary to recuperate historical memory to be part of the development of humanity. Because what can’t be say does’t exist.
· We look for the real union of our community, to be together not only because the aggressions if not also because of the friendship with no rivalities and discrimination between us. To be supportive beyond our differentials.
This agenda should be completed by the demands and proposal for the other regions (Asia, Africa, North America, ANZAPI), but we are sure this ideas influence in the reflexion and debate of common consensus.
