Consensus about Day against Violence to Trans Population
Majority propose the November 20th, Transgender Day of Remembrance (39%), this date is already establishing in many countries. In second place is April 3th (30%), date in which was created the ILGA Trans Secretariat. It is also very important that some people propose June 28th as the day against trans violence in relation with the Pride Day, remind that what happen in Stonewall was protagonist by many transvestites as Sylvia Rivera; this has been forgotten in order to make visible other identities as gay and lesbian ones. In Europe for eleven years they celebrate the first Saturday of October asking for an Adequate Standard of Life to Trans Population.
Until now majority is agree with the November 20th as the date for a world action against violence to trans population, that didn’t mean could be other action in other dates in the year, as the meetings in Europe. The day survey reveled as that with major consensus will be present in the next 24° ILGA World Conference to make it formally.
Violence is one of the urgent topics that need immediately actions. From Sevilla, Spain, we had to report another murder of a transsexual activism that every day complains against police mafia.
Rosa Pazos, 47 years old, was an activism for freedom and rights of transsexuals, she was found death in her house of Sevilla the last June 11th. Firemen found her body in the neighborhood of La Barzola.
She died because of a stab in the thorax.

By the law Rosa was Francisco Javier but nobody call her like that. José Luis Sánchez, psychologist of Andalucia Transsexual Association (Asociación de Transexuales de Andalucía, ATA), that treat her for years, consider that deny Rosa her change of sex and name was unfair. "For her was always clear she want to be a woman. ¿Why a transsexual couldn’t had mental problems", said Sánchez and that is a reflection all share, as Mar Cambrollé, President of ATA.
Rosa died in the apartment that heritage of her mother, which she take care of until her death. Some people said Rosa stop seeing her family because of her transsexuality and also she was fire of her work for that reason. A friend explains that the last time she was seen was very bad. Rosa was anarchist and helped for years with National Work Conference (Confederación Nacional del Trabajo, CNT) as transsexual activist. (Source: Publico.es).
The death of Rosa is one of the many cases we had been denounced, we can’t allow these deaths continue without a punishment.
